The Peking University Guanghua School of Management’s International MBA is a 2-year, full-time MBA program taught in English designed for high potential professionals who aspire to become international business leaders.

The program provides a holistic general management education with an emphasis on the reality of doing business in China. A rigorous curriculum covering core business practices ensures students enhance their abilities as leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs; whilst specialist subjects taught by China’s leading academics provide the in-depth understanding of China’s history, culture and exceptional economy.

The Program

In the first year of the International MBA, core courses provide a well-balanced general management education in Managerial Economics, Marketing Management, Corporate Finance, Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior and Operations Management. In the second year, students are able to tailor their MBA to their specific interests by selecting from over 30 different elective courses, in areas such as strategy management, accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resource management and information management. The second year is structured to allow students to undertake internships or other professional projects along with the academic study.

The MBA is underpinned by the integration of Humanities and Business Management teaching. Guanghua School of Management is the foremost institution in China for the provision of Chinese culture education. China-specific courses include Chinese Cultural Traditions, Business and Management, Policy and Regulations, Business Networking and Eastern Philosophy. International students will also be provided with high-quality business Chinese language training, with the opportunity to undertake the HSK qualifications.

Entry Requirements – Overseas Applicants

Guanghua MBA students are motivated, ambitious, and talented. They are inquiring minds with a thirst for knowledge and success. They value information; they apply academia; they aim for China; they adapt tradition; and they strive for change. Prospective students interested in applying must ensure to meet the following requirements:

•  Hold non-Chinese citizenship.
•  Hold bachelor’s degree or above.
•  Have relevant work experience.
•  Have competitive GMAT or GRE scores.

Application Package

All the application materials, including the Online Application Form, should be delivered by registered post or express mail to the MBA Admissions Office before the deadline.

Admission Procedures

1. There are 6 application rounds for the 2020 entry. Early bird applicants who apply before Round 3 benefit from an increased likelihood of being granted scholarships.

Note: Each candidate will only be invited to interview once on a round basis. 

2. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview (face-to-face or Skype) organized by the Guanghua School of Management in December, March or April.
3. Successful applicants will receive an offer of admission, by email, within 1-2 weeks following the interview. These applicants will receive a hardcopy admission letter by postal mail in late June.

10) Certificate of new HSK Level 6 (total score: 225) or higher (only required for international candidates applying to the Full-time or Part-Time MBA Program taught in Chinese)
*Items 1) -7) can ONLY be submitted in Chinese or English, and the application documents cannot be returned.

*New HSK Test: Level 6 (Listening≥80, Reading≥75, Writing≥70), within 2 years of application deadline
IMBA: Applicants with competitive GMAT/GRE scores can apply for IMBA.
FMBA: Applicants with competitive GMAT/GRE and Regular Chinese Test (HSK) scores can apply for FMBA.
PMBA: Applicants with competitive GMAT/GRE, and Regular Chinese Test (HSK) scores can apply for PMBA.

  • Guanghua Excellence Scholarship

Up to 188,000 RMB tuition waiver, application via our MBA online application system.

  • Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship

10,000-20,000 RMB waiver, application via our MBA online application system.

  • One Belt One Road Scholarship

Opportunities for merit-based scholarships for students from One Belt One Road countries in support of China’s Belt and Road policy. All successful applicants of the One Belt One Road Scholarship will receive full or half scholarship. The scholarship covers either the full tuition fee (188,000RMB/person) or half tuition fee (100,000RMB/person), as well as provides accommodation subsidy (4,000RMB/person/month), living allowance (3,000RMB/person/month), and pays for medical insurance fee (800RMB/person/year). An application fee of 800RMB will also be waived. Application via our MBA online application system.

  • Need-Based Scholarship

30,000-100,000 RMB waiver, application via our MBA online application system.

The Guanghua MBA is dedicated to promoting humanitarian values. As such, applicants are welcome to apply for need-based entrance scholarships if they are:

Please be aware that you need to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship through the Chinese Embassy in your home country. If you have been accepted by the Guanghua MBA through the regular application process, it would be helpful for your CSC application. You can attach your admission notification letter when you submit your application to the Embassy.

The Chinese Government Scholarship (GSM) Scheme is administered by the Ministry of Education, P.R. China in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between the Chinese government and the governments of other countries, organizations, educational institutions, and relevant international organizations to provide both full and partial scholarships to international students and scholars studying in China. International students who are applying to Peking University can apply for CGS support.

  • Other Awards

 Peking University and Guanghua MBA also offers several scholarship programs annually for exceptional students to apply for during their  2ndand 3rd semester. When assessing merit, we consider a variety of factors including academic performance, leadership, professional accomplishments, service, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the Guanghua community.
